From mysterious lights and malevolent mists to ghosts and spirits like the Din\u0000e9\u0019s skinwalkers, desert lore is rich with the supernatural. Phoenix-based Wiley Wallace<\/strong> channels that atmosphere in glowing acrylic paintings where crystals, enigmatic energy forces, starlight, and specters coalesce. His current solo exhibition, Night Bloom<\/strong> at Arch Enemy Arts<\/strong>, gathers intimate, jewel-like works that reach 16 inches wide<\/em> at the largest and compress down to six by six inches<\/em>, each rendered with remarkable precision.<\/p>\n

Across dusky desert scenes, figures gather around nebula-like swirls of light and giant prismatic crystals that seem to rise directly before them. The tone leans toward wonder and contemplation rather than fear, as if these encounters have been invited\u0014
\nthey read like thresholds, perhaps to other spirit realms or phases of life, holding fast to the enchantment of the unexplained and the sublime. The paintings\u0019 modest scale only sharpens their intensity, inviting close looking as the surfaces hum with nocturnal glow.<\/p>\n
