Open to professionals and amateurs alike, the competition will award one winner \u0000a3\u000015,000 and a commission to be added to the collection of London\u00019s National Portrait Gallery. An exhibition of the best entries will be shown at the museum from November 5 to January 17, and the winner will be announced on November 3.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:left\">The shortlist<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Max Pattenden, \u000022Havannah, Lee Moor\u000022 from the series \u000022Men May Come and Men May Go, But I Go On Forever\u000022 (2025)<\/li>\n<li>James Clifford Kent, \u000022Neisser, Pinar del Rio, Cuba\u000022 from the series \u000022Yuma\u000022 (2025)<\/li>\n<li>Marcie Docherty, \u000022PE\u000022 from the series \u000022In Pursuit of Muscle\u000022 (2026)<\/li>\n<li>Katie Hitchcock-Smith, \u000022Moroccan (Amazigh) Cowboys\u000022 from the series \u000022Tajine Westerns\u000022 (2025)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Together, the selections reflect the breadth of contemporary portrait photography cited by the prize: intimate encounters, street scenes, and images set against rural expanses feature across the wider field of submissions.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:left\">Across the wider selection<\/h2>\n<p>Additional works featured among the entries include Tom Parker\u00019s \u000022Venice Boxers\u000022 from the series \u000022Venice Beach,\u000022 Felicity Crawshaw\u00019s \u000022Huw\u000022 (2026), Ellie Ramsden\u00019s \u000022A Young Elvis\u000022 from the series \u000022The Elvies\u000022 (2025), Nora Obergeschwander\u00019s \u000022In the space of becoming\u000022 from the series \u000022Threshold moments\u000022 (2026), and Ron Timehin\u00019s \u000022Surface\u000022 from the series \u000022We Who Belong\u000022 (2025). Cheryl Newman\u00019s \u000022Six Weeks Away\u000022 from the series \u000022Six Weeks Away\u000022 (2025) is also highlighted.
