With Daguerre\u000027s breakthrough bringing the practice into the public realm in 1839, variations in chemistry and materials soon proliferated, paving the way for the countless processes, technologies, and formats that have followed.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:left\">Eleven exhibitions, many vantage points<\/h2>\n<p>Designed to celebrate 200 years of photography in France, <em>Grand Angle<\/em> presents 11 traveling shows that spotlight both subject matter and the individuals behind the lens.
