At GRAY Chicago, Jaume Plensas Beyond Silence meets a New York counterpart

At GRAY Chicago, Jaume Plensas Beyond Silence centers on two monumental wood-and-steel reliefs, Julia and Maria, each measuring 28 feet wide and seven feet tall, alongside elongated faces from the Clouds series in cast iron and granite stone. The exhibition marks Plensas tenth solo with GRAY and coincides with Remote, Serene, Ethereal at the gallerys New York location; both are on view through December 19.
Phaidons Another View Opens the Doors to 20 Contemporary Black Artists Studios

Forthcoming from Phaidon, Another View: The Vibrant World of Contemporary Black Artists opens 20 studios through nearly 200 pages, with 150 never-before-seen photographs, exclusive interviews, and an introduction by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. The book features artists including Nick Cave, Nina Chanel Abney, Hank Willis Thomas, Carrie Mae Weems, and Kerry James Marshall, and is slated for release on October 28.
